Proposal

Description

This route allows you to unite the most outstanding attractions of the classic trails and treks in the area. We start at Laguna de los Tres, one of the most beautiful treks, and camping at the base of Fitz Roy, then we head towards Laguna Torre, at the base of the mythical and homonymous hill; Finally, we will cross Loma del Pliegue Tumbado, towards Laguna Toro, where we will camp to return to El Chalten.

Itinerary

Day 0 (previous day) - Meeting in El Chaltén, equipment check, guides presentation.

Day 1 - We leave in the morning from El Chaltén along the path that goes to the base of Fitz Roy, passing through Laguna Capri. We organize the camp in the area known as Poincenot. In the afternoon we ascend to Laguna de los Tres, where we will also visit the viewpoint of Laguna Sucia and we will observe the imposing Mount Fitz Roy and its surrounding needles; return to camp and overnight.

Day 2 - We continue along the path that passes through the Lagunas Madre and Hija and then we will cross towards the Valle del Torre, to meet the path that goes to the camps of the lagoon with the same name. New camp. We will observe and rest next to the lagoon to observe the immensity that lives at the foot of the Adela massifs and the mythical Cerro Torre and its other mountains that surround it.

Day 3 - We leave very early, on one of the longest days, towards the Laguna Toro Valley. We will cross the Agachonas Pass from where we will be able to fully observe the Fitz Roy and Torre massifs. We will follow the Río Túnel Valley upstream to Laguna Toro Camp. We will camp at the Laguna Toro Camp.

Day 4 - We descend through the valley and the conventional path to El Chalten, in about 6 hours approx. End of the tour, in El Chalten.

Do I need to be trained?

For any mountain activity you need to have previous physical preparation, or be physically active.

Do I need to have previous experience?

No previous experience is required, we recommend having good physical condition, and knowing that the modality is a journey, where you walk during the day with a backpack, and spend the night in a wild camp.

Where do you spend the night?

The overnight is done in mountain camps in igloo-type tents, comfortable and for 2/3 or 4 people.

Do I have to bring a tent?

The tents are included in the service. If you want to bring your own, ask us.

Is there a bathroom?

The camps are wild, there are some with a public bathroom with a latrine, you have to maintain the hygiene of the place, taking your papers.

What is the weather or the temperature?

Although the time of year is optimal for this journey, in Andean and/or wild areas, temperatures tend to drop at night.

Are there rest stops?

The stops are given with a frequency and graduation according to the intensity. There are stops for lunch, snack, and rest.

From what age can they do this activity?

From 16 years of age. We also recommend that you contact us before registering or registering a minor.

How much does the backpack weigh?

In a woman a range from 15 to 18 kilos, in a man from 18 to 25 kilos.

Is there a porterage service?

NO. You can hire a human porter but it is at your own expense.

What do we eat?

In all our expeditions we offer the service of meals IN FULL BOARD PLAN.

  • Lunches (cold meals): Milanesa and tomato sandwiches, cold cut sandwiches, appetizers, salads, tapas, etc.
  • Dinners: Vegetable-bacon-red chorizo ??stews, Chicken and vegetable casseroles, Pasta with various sauces or stew, Roast meat (Chivito), Chaw Fan, Chicken with rice in a saucepan....
  • Breakfasts and snacks: Tea, Coffee, Cappuccino, Mate Cocido, Mate, Milk powder; bread, cookies, jam, honey, dulce de leche; cereals, fruit

It is necessary to complete the personal/medical record to clarify if someone does not eat any type of food.

MANDATORY GENERAL EQUIPMENT
  • Backpack for trekking (65 to 85 liters)
  • Warm sleeping bag (-10 degrees comfort minimum)
  • Insulated sleeping pad (10 to 15mm)
  • Pair of trekking poles
  • Sunglasses with UV protection category 4.
FOOTWEAR
  • 1 pair of Waterproof trekking boots (in good conditions)
  • 1 second pair of light trekking shoes to cross rivers
CLOTHES
  • Underwear
  • Several pairs of trekking socks (some can be first-skin-interior-thin)
  • 1 pair of wool socks (sleeping coat)
  • 2 T-shirts made of polypropylene (dry fit type) or similar (not cotton) for walking
  • 1 long-sleeved thermal shirt
  • Warm inner pants (type leggings or long underpants)
  • Trekking pants. Lightweight-quick dry
  • 2 intermediate outerwear (long-sleeved fleeces)
  • Warm hat (polar or synthetic wool)
  • Sun cap (with flaps)
  • Buff or multifunctional scarf
  • Warm gloves
  • Waterproof jacket (ultrex or gore tex or similar)
PERSONAL ELEMENTS
  • Passport or ID
  • Complete medical and personal file
  • Travel assistance insurance. Required.
MISCELLANEOUS
  • Front flashlight with batteries (With spare batteries)
  • Personal kit (medication with the relevant prescription).
  • Sunscreen, Lip balm
  • Soap, shampoo (small to share) and small towel.
  • Toilet paper, handkerchiefs, Baby wipes.

  • Water containers for at least 2 liters (it can be a plastic bottle) Camelback, Nalgene or similar
